Carpet Tile Installation in Deer Park

Carpet tile gives you the warmth of carpet with a big practical bonus: when one square gets stained or worn, you swap that square. We measure, prep and install it with the same small crew the whole way, so you always know who is in your home.

Carpet That Forgives Spills and Hard Use

Carpet tile comes in squares or planks, usually 18 to 24 inches across, with a firm backing that holds its shape. Instead of one big roll stretched over tack strip, each piece sits on its own with a release adhesive or small connector tabs. That makes it a smart pick for rooms that take a beating: game rooms, kids' bedrooms, home offices with a rolling chair, and converted garages.

We keep things small on purpose. The person who measures your room is part of the crew that lays the tile and does the final walkthrough, so the details you mention on day one don't get lost. We've been in business 25+ years, and that habit is a big part of why.

If you want classic wall-to-wall softness in a living room or bedroom, our carpet installation page covers broadloom carpet. Carpet tile is the better call when you care more about easy fixes than an unbroken, one-piece look.

What Your Carpet Tile Job Includes

Measuring and a layout plan

We measure each room and sketch where the tiles start so cut pieces land at the edges, not in the middle of a doorway. You'll know roughly how many boxes it takes before anything is ordered.

Old flooring removal

We pull up old carpet, pad and tack strip, then pull staples or scrape glue so the new tiles have a clean surface to bond to.

Slab and subfloor prep

Carpet tile hides less than you'd think. Ridges, old tack strip holes and cracks can show through, so we patch and level the floor where it needs it. On concrete slabs we check moisture before any adhesive goes down.

Pattern choices

Tiles can be laid all one direction, turned a quarter each time for a checkerboard look, or offset like brick. We'll lay a few out so you can see the difference in your own light.

Transitions and edges

Where the tile meets hardwood, luxury vinyl plank or tile, we fit a transition strip so there's no trip edge.

Spare tiles and cleanup

We leave your extra tiles from the same dye lot, haul away the old flooring and vacuum before we go.

Signs Carpet Tile Is Right for Your Room

Stains keep winning
If juice, paint or pet accidents have left spots you can't get out, carpet tile lets you lift one square and drop in a new one.
Worn paths through the room
Traffic lanes and chair ruts on old carpet are a sign the room gets heavy use. Tiles can be rotated or replaced where the wear shows.
A cold, hard converted space
Garage conversions and bonus rooms on slab often feel chilly underfoot. Carpet tile adds comfort without the work of stretching broadloom.
You worry about water
After a leak or a wet storm season, a few damaged tiles can come up to dry or be replaced instead of tearing out the whole room.
A home office or playroom
Rolling chairs, toy bins and furniture that moves around are easier on a floor built from individual pieces.

How a Carpet Tile Job Goes

  1. 1

    A phone conversation

You tell us about the room, how it's used and what's on the floor now. We'll talk through whether carpet tile fits and set a time to come measure.

  2. 2

    Measure and check the floor

We measure, look at the subfloor and test a concrete slab for moisture, which matters in our humid Gulf Coast air. You get your quote by phone once we've seen the space.

  3. 3

    Prep day

We remove the old flooring and patch or level the floor. Tiles rest in the room ahead of time so they adjust to your home's temperature.

  4. 4

    Installation

We snap a center line, lay tiles out from the middle and cut the edge pieces last. Most single rooms go in within a day.

  5. 5

    Walkthrough

The same crew walks the room with you, points out the spare tiles and shows you how to lift and replace one.

What Shapes the Price of Carpet Tile

Carpet tile pricing comes down to the product you pick and the condition of the floor underneath. We explain each piece of the quote on the phone so nothing comes as a surprise later.

Room size and shape
More square footage means more tile, and rooms with closets, angles or lots of doorways mean more cuts.
The tile itself
Pile height, backing type and how plush the face feels all change the cost. Some tiles come with a cushioned backing that feels closer to padded carpet.
Removal and prep
Pulling glued-down flooring or leveling an uneven slab takes more time than lifting old carpet off a flat floor.
Pattern and waste
Brick and quarter-turn layouts can use a few extra tiles, and we order enough that you keep spares.
Stairs and transitions
Stairs are handled separately; see our stair flooring page. Extra transition strips add a little to the total.

Carpet Tile Questions We Hear Often

Does carpet tile feel soft enough for a bedroom?
It feels firmer than plush broadloom over thick pad, but softer and warmer than any hard floor. Tiles with a cushioned backing close much of that gap. We can bring samples so you can stand on them before deciding.
Will the tiles shift or curl?
Not when the floor is prepped well and the right adhesive is used. The release adhesive holds each tile in place but still lets you lift one later. Curling usually comes from moisture or a dirty floor, which is why we check and clean before laying anything.
How do I replace a damaged tile?
Lift a corner with a putty knife, pull the tile up and press a spare into the same spot, matching the arrow on the back. We'll show you during the walkthrough. Keep the spares somewhere dry so they stay matched to the rest.
Can carpet tile go over a concrete slab?
Yes, and most homes around Deer Park, Pasadena and La Porte sit on slabs. We test the slab for moisture first, since too much can break down adhesive over time. If a slab reads high, we'll tell you plainly and talk through the options.
Is the installation covered?
Yes. We carry a 1-year workmanship warranty on all installations, and carpet tile is included. If something about how the tiles were laid doesn't look right, give us a call and the same crew will come take a look. We're also insured while working in your home.
